Function of Fulvic and Humic Acids

Humates are a combination of fulvic and humic acids which have varying molecular sizes, which is critical in how they function in plant and animal cells. Fulvic acid molecules are extremely small and can pass through cell membranes very efficiently carrying essential nutrients, vitamins and other active ingreidents into cells, while also removing toxins and heavy metals, this is why it is added to many animal feed supplements and used in agriculture to help transport essential minerals and elements into plant cells and organelles. Humic acids have larger molecular structures and and can chelate nutrients that can then be absorbed by plant and animal cells.

Fulvic acid is also the primary active component in Shilajit, a nutrient-rich, tar-like substance used in Ayurvedic medicine for thousands of years to improve vitality, strength, and immunity. Known as a rejuvenator and adaptogen, it is believed to enhance nutrient absorption, fight inflammation, and support cognitive health. Fulvic acids provide a natural, organic source of trace minerals which act as electrolytes and antioxidants.
